The donation pieces for the Empty Bowls project in Baton Rouge, Louisiana are a collaborative effort with the woman who started the event-Julie Harrison. A truely motivated individual, she has hosted Empty Bowls at the Louisiana School for the Deaf-her place of employement. She creates the bowls on the electric potter's wheel and I decorate the images. These pieces are then put into a silent auction the night of the event. I have been involved with the Baton Rouge event since it's inception in 2002 and, even though I have been here in Arkansas almost two years, I continue to help when the event is held. The proceeds for the event benefit Saint Vincent de Paul and the Baton Rouge Food Bank.
